    Okay,

So, I tried to play the Sims 4 today and when the new popup asking you to signup for the shop notifications comes up, my game would freeze and I had to restart my computer.  I did this I don't know how many times.  Anyways, I use CC.  When I removed my CC, the popup disappeared and I could play fine.  I went on the forums to see what was up and sure enough, other people had the same problem.  I'm not very technical, but I had a theory.  I tested it and well, what do you know, I was actually right.  So, here's the problem.  When the new popup comes up, the usual popup listing the CC installed also is trying to come up at the same time.  Since I have kind of a lot of CC, I wondered if the CC popup was taking too long to load and freezing the game, since it was trying to come up at the same time as the other popup.  But when I went into the settings/game options, there was no option to turn the CC popup off from there.  You can only do it from the CC popup itself (there's a little box checked at the bottom saying 'always show at startup' or whatever).  But my game was freezing before it could come up.  So I wondered, tested my theory and it worked, and, well here is what you do:

    1.  Move ALL CC from your Mods folder to a temporary folder EXCEPT ONE PIECE OF CC.  I just used a custom hair package.  Also, make sure the 'resource.cgi' or whatever the file is called (you know, the one that comes with the game) is still there.

    2. Reload the game.

    3. Exit the new notifications signup popup.  The regular CC popup should then come right up.

    4. Disable the box at the bottom that says 'Always show at startup' or whatever.  Make sure it's unchecked.

    5. Exit game.

    6. Put the rest of your CC/Mods back into your mods folder.

    7. Restart game.

This time, when the new popup comes up, you should be able to exit it with no problem and play your game.  I don't know if I can answer any questions, again, I'm not very technical, I just used deductive reasoning here.  Also, I don't know if it is related or EA fixed it, but now, my Gallery works.  All the people I follow show up and the gallery loads faster.  Maybe disabling the CC popup fixed that, too.  Anyways I hope this helps! Have a good day/night and God Bless.
