Vampire functions aren't working with expansion.

I was so excited to dl the Vampires expansion but am disappointed after playing for a few days. None of the vampire functions are even working, my sims and vamps can't compel others to drink, turn people, ask to turn, or really do anything cool. The commands are there but nothing happens when I click. Neither EA nor Origin seems to offer any kind of support for their crappy products. Have other people had this issue on PC?
