Wedding reset home lot to older version

Hi, 

I'm playing my legacy challenge and so made a major renovation to my house, then the next in game day my heir got married and on returning to the lot my house was back to before the reno!

The build took ages, so it's really frustrating, I don't know if I should re-do or if there's a way to get the reno back? (I didn't upload to the gallery and I don't remember saving between reno & wedding)

The wedding was planned via the calendar which I thought was the the less buggy option. Only the couple travelled to the community lot the wedding was held on so they just got married and returned home. To get them home I selected one of the family on the home lot, switched control the brought the couple back through their portraits.

The household funds are back to pre-reno level as are the plants/crops in the garden, it's as through the wedding returned the house to an earlier state though my sims who aged up on the day of the wedding are still elders.

I'm playing on PC, running windows 10, I don't have CC switched on in this play through, I didn't use live edit or debug items, just moveobjects to place things.

Any advice on possible ways to get the bigger house back would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
