What does this mean What do I do?? help!!:((

I’ve been playing The Sims for quite some time and only have two mods installed: Basemental and WW. Admittedly, I don’t update my mods as often as I should. When I recently reopened my game, I noticed some furniture was missing, and I couldn’t place new objects in certain spots due to a "script failed" error.

I decided to delete Basemental, WW, and all other custom content (CC). However, now in Build Mode, I have limited options for counters, chairs, and beds. It only shows items from the packs I own and a few generic base game items, even though there should be far more options. Anytime I enter a new world or return to my usual one, a message pops up saying, "Items removed... one or more things may not be installed or owned." Strangely, it’s base game items that are missing—not content from packs I don’t own.

Additionally, my houses have major issues: my kitchen only has a fridge and stove, with no counters, and all the sofas are gone. I’ve already wiped my Sims 4 folder, saved backups of my saves and tray files, and even created duplicates of the folder, but the problem persists.

I’m at a loss. Is my Sims game permanently ruined? Do I need to completely uninstall and reinstall EA and Origin? I really need help! ☹️(

  • @leogodess When you deleted those mods, did you also delete the file called localthumbcache, to make sure the game fully forgot them? Have you checked for any other files related to those mods, including in your Saves folder? Have you tried a Game Repair?

I've had that same issue happen and yes, I did all those things and nothing worked. It's very strange and random when it happens.

  • @sne888 If you're missing furniture and getting this error, the known issue is an outdated 18+-rated mod that can't be named on these forums. If the activity in the mod isn't for teens or younger (in the real world), go update that mod. If updating your 18+ mods isn't fixing this, you need to check in your folder for outdated versions of the mod.
