Why can't I activate cheats on Sims 4?

For some reason I type in the activation code (testingCheats true) for the cheat but It doesn't work at all I check if cheats are already activated by typing in a money cheat (Money 999999) but it doesn't work either I am on Windows 10 on my laptop in case that means anything can you please suggest what might be?

@TheCasualGamer96 Hello! Are you entering the code in Live or Build Mode? The cheat won't work from Map view. If the code is accepted, you will get a prompt stating Cheats are enabled. Are you getting this message when you enter the code?

By the way, the money cheat must also be entered in Live or Build Mode.
