I can't type. My game has suddenly stop letting me type in the spaces used for naming my sims. I don't understand why it won't let me type anything anymore. Is it because of the update or the few mods I got for extra clothes, different eyes, and things like scars or vitiligo? Why has the game stopped me from typing out the names I picked for my sims? Why can't I find them in my library anymore?
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
what are mods folder? i never downloaded any mods i just downloaded the game and it wont let me type in-game, i can backspace just fine and my keyboard words to sit here and type this.
@v2adamebomb Can you type in no areas of the game, or only not in specific ones? And are there any fixes you've tried so far? I'll send you to the appropriate forums area (this one is for people using mods/CC).
same i can't see the buttons and i can't name them should i delete all my mods?
@genesisiscool You should definitely test without the mods. But first, check for what's known to be broken and what's been updated: Broken/Updated Mods . Even if it turns out to be a mod that isn't listed there, you still won't need to delete everything - just to find which one is the issue, assuming it's a mod. You can also test vanilla: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.
I dont have any mods at all and I cant change the name of my sims... i also tried the insert button, but it makes no difference. Now what?

Are you on a Mac or a PC (a non-Mac computer)?
Do you get an error code or message when you start up? If so, please post the whole error code or message. A screenshot is fine.
