Why is everything in my house always dirty even if the sims just cleaned it

I have tried to reload the game, change households, build a new house and cleaning everything multiple times but everything in the house is always dirty even if it doesn't look like it. When I try to have my sim clean it, the interaction runs but after that the item is still dirty and this is on everything so counters, toilets, showers, tubs, sinks... 

Does anyone have any idea as to why? This just started happening recently (less than a month)
