Why is my Hospital in not appearing in game?

Hi all! I'm fairly new to The Sims 4, BUT I have a problem. When I first started playing, I bought the Get To Work expansion pack. I had a hospital and was able to go have birth at the hospital with my first Sims. After that first Sims, however, I have not been able to go to the hospital at all! I've had 2-3 other Sims give birth, multiple times, but they don't go to the hospital. I even click "have birth at hospital," but I just stay stuck at the house and I don't follow them. I go and search all the worlds and I don't see a hospital anywhere either. Can someone please help me? Thank you so much!

  • @HanaDumii, there really isn't a physical hospital that you can go to on the map.  The hospital is only accessible by either going into labor or by choosing the Doctor career path.  It sounds like your Sim is stuck. 🤨

You can try to reset you pregnant Sim by doing the following:

    1) Bring up the Cheat Box by pressing the "Ctrl" button + the "Shift" button + the "C" button at the same time on your keyboard.

    2) Put your cursor in the Cheat Box and type resetsim "First name" "Last name" without the quotes.  So for example if your Sim is Bella Goth, then you would type "resetsim Bella Goth" with out the quotes and then press the "Enter" button.

Your Sim should be reset and you hopefully can now send them to the hospital! 🤞

However, if you play with Mods or Custom Content (CC) this could be why your Sim can't go to the hospital.  It doesn't matter if your Mods/CC have noting to do with pregnant Sims.  EA just released an update patch to the game, and every time they patch the game Mods and CC can become outdated.  The people who create Mods and CC have to update their creations to work with the new patch, and then you would have to get the updated Mods/CC and replace your old broken ones with the new updated ones.😞

If you use Mods/CC then you can check to see if that is the problem by doing the following:

    1) Remove your Mods folder to the Desktop

    2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder

    3) Fix your game in Origin by Logging into Origin and go to your Library.  Right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the option to "Repair Game" .  Wait until Origin fixes all of your packs, and not just your Base Game.

Now, when you turn on your game, it will create a new Mods folder that will be empty.

Check to see if your problem is fixed in your game.

If the problem still occurs, then outdated  Mods/CC isn't your problem.

If the problem is fixed then you have to go through all your Mods/CC and find the broken item or items and get the new versions of those wherever you got them in the first place, once the creator updates that item.  If you have a lot of Mods or CC, then it is easiest to do the 50/50 Method to find the problem item(s).

I hope this helps you, but if the first thing doesn't work and you don't use Mods/CC, or if neither suggestion works, then please update us so we can try to figure out what is happening in your game!🤔  And you can also update us if any of these suggestions do work! 😃

Thank you! I'll try to reset my Sim first. If that doesn't seem to work, I'll try checking any mods I do have! I didn't know that Mods or CC could actually do that to the game, so thank you for letting me know!

@HanaDumii, hopefully the reset cheat will work, as it is the simplest possible suggestion!  As for CC and Mods, they are created at a certain point in time with the game being a certain way.  Once EA changes anything to the game, there is a chance that CC and/or Mods can be affected since the code they were made to work with is now different. 😉  EA allows Mods/CC but there is no possible way they can anticipate all the CC and Mods that people might make.  They can't contact all CC/mods makers and collaborate with them, so they just have to change the game the way they need to .  That is why it is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their creations to fit any changes that EA makes to the game, and why players who choose to use CC/Mods have to stay on top of all these changes.  The more CC/Mods you have , the harder it is to maintain them in your game!  This is why I don't use them -- I used to in TS2 and TS3, but in TS3 I had a major problem had to take them out of my game.  I'm too lazy to keep up with all of that! 😃

The funny thing is, is that sometimes either CC or mods affects your game in seemingly unrelated ways.  I've seen problems with Sims not being able to leave for work or school because of some item of CC like eyelashes! 😮😃 What eyelashes would have to do with this, I don't know, it is just how these things are sometimes connected! 🤨:eahigh_file:

Please update us on if you can get your game working properly again or not.  Thanks and best of luck!! 😇🤞

    Hey @misssassy123,

This thread is quite old and is being locked here to avoid necroposting.

If you've already tried all the steps above and are still running into trouble, please feel free to start a new thread if you're unable to find a more recent topic on the same subject, thanks!
