@daniellalee06 You can't simply place the mods on your external drive and expect the game to find them there. Instead, you'll need to use a symbolic link to tell it where to look.
If you get an error when creating the symlink, try using the full file path to the folder rather than %userprofile% as is in the guide. It would look like this:
MKLINK /J “C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4” “E:\The Sims 4”
