XML Injector Isn't Working

Hello! I seem to be having an issue with my XML Injector. Specifically, the XML injector test isn't appearing in-game (although it does turn up on the mod list at start up), and none of the mods that I have that rely on it seem to be working either. I've tried redownloading it several times, getting rid of any mods that might have something to do with it, and even launched the game with only the XML Injector in my mods folder. I did all of this with a different household and save file to see if it was an issue with that specific family. None of those seemed to fix it- the option to test it never turns up, and none of the reward traits or moodlets that required it turn up either. I didn't see it in the broken mods listed, so I'm not sure what to do.

If it's relevant, it's been a few months since I've played the sims, and it's on a new computer. When I switched computers, I uploaded the mods and saves folders to onedrive, then replaced the saves and mods folders on the new computer with them. Everything else is working fine- it's just this specific mod. It's also worth mentioning that the XML injector is not several folders deep- I extracted it straight into the mods folder.

Thank you for any help! I'm not sure where to go from here.

OneDrive is known to mess with Sims 4 mods and other Sims 4 files, so it's highly recommended not to sync. I'm not sure why no mods would be seeing XML Injector for you if it's both files of the current version, in Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods or one folder down, script mods are turned on in Options, and you deleted localthumbcache, other than that perhaps OneDrive is undoing changes made to your options file or some other file. I'm currently using it with no issues (I was just testing a mod that relies on it earlier today). After turning syncing off, try deleting localthumbcache so it recreates itself and check options in-game again.

  • Hi @TheDragon4988 . I'd suggest deleting your copy of XML Injector and redownloading it from the Scumbumbo memorial website. And make sure that you don't have OneDrive syncing your Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 files on that new computer.

Hello @luthienrising! I've deleted the XML injector and redownloaded it as you said and that didn't really fix anything. As far as the OneDrive goes, I tried turning sinc off, and that didn't solve anything. That being said, onedrive backed up my last computer as well, and I never ran across any issues with it.

Hi, I have same issue as "TheDragon" tho i don't have the onedrive. I have done all the same things as TheDragon and it's not working as it did before. The V2 version I. had no problems with at all, and the test was working 1st try. But this time, noting works.

I have even moved my mod folder to my desktop and repaired the game (starting from scratched) and added few documents at a time the the ned modfolder, to solve the issues the game was making after the "after life" update, to solve the problems and this mod I can't solve, because there is no other update than the V4. (the original file from the mod-folder is still there, sp that is not the issue.

Really hope someone can help. :-)

@Camilla1501 XML Injector does nothing by itself and the new update version is fine. Don't worry about the test file. It's not necessary. If you have mods that use XML Injector that aren't working, then those mods need updates.

But first time I downloaded the XML Injector (6 days ago - before the Game-update) I ran the test that they suggest, by clicking my sim and clicked the test button, and a note came up that it worked.

Now, after the game-update and XML-update (and many other mod/script-updates) the test that I did the first time won't show the note saying that it works.

Thats why it seems like the XML is not working properly?

    And thanks for answering 😃

@Camilla1501 I just tested the "test" in my game without other mods and with only the new files. It worked, although it took a bit to pop up the first time -- I think because the game was busy thinking about the Reaper Rewards. Make sure you don't have any old XML Injector files in there.
