Re: Console Controller Feedback

I am in communication with Sony re getting a refund for the base game and every DLC released for the game under the grounds that the game is now faulty. They don't seem to be grasping that its not a system issue but that the game controls have been changed rendering the game unplayable for everyone on console. I am not holding out much hope but will keep you posted if I have any success whatsoever. At the very least I will have added to the probably pile of similar refund requests they have received. 

UPDATE: As expected Sony are telling me to reload all the games back in and rebuild the PS5 database, I have explained its not the system but the game and they have said I still need to complete the troubleshooting before they will discuss anything further. They also stated that they are not aware of any other reports the game is faulty.

    you heard them! Time to report the game is faulty to developers!! Let's do this!

    @Racehunter5555 completely agree. Playstation said that they had not had any requests for refunds or reports the game was faulty when I put my refund request in. I find this highly unlikely - but perhaps if we all request a refund on X Box or PS they might just listen to us!

    Should we try to organize somewhere to put them in all in the space of a few hours? Or a day? I’m not sure if there’s any other way to get a response. I’m starting to think my partner was right about EA suppressing any mention of this mess haha

    you for your reply. At the moment console players cannot have the best possible experience of playing The Sims 4 as the experience is now unplayable. There is lots of feedback on this thread and I think everyone is in agreement that the gameplay has been severely affected. Lots of people are genuinely upset that their favourite game and something which they have spent a lot of money on no longer works. Users struggle to navigate through the items using the cursor and the scroll bar, unfortunately this is not something a PlayStation or Xbox controller can work with. Users are also upset that they cannot fully see their screen in order to build as the catalogue is no longer collapsible. In addition to these issues, since the 31/01 update the game has lots of bugs, for example lots of controls share the same button and shortcuts cannot be used in the same way as they did previously. The whole building experience is not user friendly any more and the game just isn’t fun any more the way that it currently stands. I think a lot of people are genuinely upset because the game and the DLC is not cheap and lots of users have invested a lot of money in The Sims 4 franchise but right now we just cannot play it or enjoy it. Please fix this.

    @EA_Cade I think it's just become overheated because we hadn't heard anything on here in so long. So maybe if we could have an estimated time or some idea of what will and can be fixed that might go some way to calm the anxiety.
    If I can put it into context it's like having an expensive TV but then someone changes all the button functions without warning and some buttons don't work and some keep changing. Then you can't find out when it will be fixed.
    I've filed bug reports, accessibility reports about the effects on my disability, given very detailed feedback, carefully photographed everything to demonstrate the problems. So maybe if anything else is needed in terms of additional information someone could join in on here regularly to chat with us about it. That would be really appreciated.

    @EA_Cade Let me explain one thing shortly. We respect you as the people and appreciate your work, but we, as the console community are disappointed by you company's policy. We are still waiting for any response from your side because the last pach for consoles made the build mode literally unplayable. The manual scrolling is a disaster especially in the catalogs such as clutter category. The only good thing in the patch is the option to overrite the savefile by pressing R2 instead of X on PS5. To be as much constructive as possible I strongy suggest you to bring back the old controllers but create more BB subcategories instead. It will be easier to navigate and less for scrolling.

    Hi there, sorry to be a bother but I’m just wondering if the controls will be fixed ahead of the expansion pack release? I really want to pre-order the new pack but like others, I’m struggling to play the game with the new controls.

    Is it at all possible to revert the controls ahead of the expansion pack release? The old controls were much more intuitive and accessible for disabled players, and I’d really like them to return to the game. Thanks for reading!

    @EA_Cade - Please can we get an update or an ETA on these console issues please? I’m aware there is an update tomorrow for the new EP and there’s lots of console players here that would probably like to buy it or play it but are unable to with the game in this current state at the moment. Some acknowledgment and an update would be great.. I understand you are compiling feedback but there’s so much feed back on here, it’s kinda only fair you tell people what fix, you are planning.

    We need controls to go back to the way they were. Ever try to copy an object in this game and it lags out now because the menu staying open wants to jump to that specific section? It is awful. If EA really wants this to stay in console. That is fine but at least have an Option to TURN IT OFF, like...say keyboard mode or controller mode. Since I know this update was for people who connect their consoles to a keyboard. But for me, who uses a PS4 controller. I hate this update and it NEEDS to be fixed. Something has to be done about it. Because the game is just unnecessarily difficult to play now.
