Audio Cracking/Popping When Loading or Music is Playing (M1 MacBook Air)

    I found a solution. No promises that it'll work for everybody, but it seems to be working for me. Open the Audio MIDI Setup app (should be under Other in Launchpad), click the Format dropdown, and change it to 96,000 Hz. I don't know why this worked, but I'm not having any crackling anymore.

So just in case someone is still having this issue, I had the same but the crackling only happens when I am watching videos while I am playing my Sims 4 on my Macbook Pro with M2 chip. I tried to change the Audio MIDI  speaker and mic as suggested to 96,000 Hz and that did not work. What did was turning off Game Mode that automatically comes up when I open up my sims 4. Try this if you are still having issue. 🙂
