if it is of any use to you, I noticed I have several "lastException" files from the past week which is the time when my base game went missing, they seem to be longer documents but thought i'd let you know in case it can help!
As for where my base game is installed - where would I find that? I downloaded the sims on origin but I'm not sure where to find the exact file path and any other sims 4 packs in the same location.
And thank you for letting me know about game repair, I will give that a go!
