Big problem

When the game updated a few days ago, all of my mods suddenly stopped working. I tried restarting the game, restarting my computer, re-downloading the game, nothing. I also checked for any heavily broken mods, but all of the mods I already had installed had worked perfectly before the update, and I hadn't added any new ones to the folder before that.
Another on-topic problem, I tried deleting my sims 4 folder to get a new one, and it worked!... But then I did it again, and now it won't give me a new folder. I've tried doing it multiple times, but the thing is I can still open the game? 
I don't know what to do, I really like the sims 4, somebody please help.
