Can’t install Sims 4 expansion pack onto external hard drive

I installed the Sims 4 onto my Seagate 1T external hard drive a few months ago because I simply don't have space on my mac for games. Since then, it's worked perfectly so I finally bought an expansio...

You can't install just a pack into a folder, it must be installed to the same location the base game is. Have you checked the install location is still correct in Origin > Preferences > Installs & Saves?

If you are running Catalina, check that Origin has Full Disk Access in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy

Hey so I moved my Sims game to an external hard drive I’ve just bout 2 new packs and they won’t download to the saved location I have set as the hard drive it keeps saying failed and unable to download even thought the location pops up on the drive after I get that notification? I have the install location as the sims 4 folder where my game is
