Can't Click Right Mouse in New Game

 Hi there!

My Sims 4 game is new and when I went to make a new Sims family and a new Save Game I suddenly lost the ability to right-click!

I am a HUGE fan of testingcheatsenabled and to use them, you have to right-click, or "shift click". On the MacBook, this means pressing shift and clicking on the keypad. Now when I click it just gives me the same options as a left-click!

I've talked to seven people at EA about this and it's been a mess because they don't have advisors that either play the Sims or use a Mac so three times they just hung up on me. So I'd be eternally grateful if someone could figure this out.

Update: I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Reset Origin. Cleared the caches. Deleted the entire game folder (minus saves), updated the game, updated origin. Repaired the game. Removed mods.

You should also be able to right click by using two fingers together on the trackpad. Have you checked your trackpad settings in System Preferences?

Thank you so much for replying.

It doesn't work to press the trackpad with two fingers. I double checked my system preferences and they are set correctly.

I also installed and reinstalled the games. The issue happens even if my saves folder is absent.

Ok. Just to clarify, the other way to right click is to hold down the CTRL key and click. Holding down the Shift key and clicking is not a usual way to right click in macOS unless you have changed the Modifier Keys in System Preferences.

Also, to enter the cheat you bring up the cheat box and enter testingcheats true then hit Enter, not testingcheatsenabled true like in Sims 3. You should then be able to Shift and click on your Sim 🙂
