Can't rotate sim with touchpad

I recently updated to MacOS Catalina, and am not sure if it's directly related or not, but my mouse is sketched out so when it's not hovered over the sim if I try to click to rotate it instead pulls some part of the body, even though its over in the blue area around the sim. using < and > still work, but I would like the mouse function back, so thought I would report issue! Game is fully updated and I removed my mods folder and repaired the game but it did not fix the issue.
