CC not showing up in game - MacBook

Hello!

I recently started playing sims on my MacBook Pro and downloaded a bunch of cc which worked in my game for a while. I then decided that I wanted to delete some cc, so I simply just moved them out of the mods folder. When I started the game again none of my cc was there, they didn't even show up on the mods list in the settings. I have searched around for solutions but nothing is working so I would appreciate if anyone had any new tips for me to try!

I have tried:

- Deleting the game and redownloading it

- Deleting One drive

- Replacing my mods folder

- Turning off iCloud drive

- Turning on and off mods in the settings

- Checking if my mods are in the right place, which they are. (Documents>electronic arts>sims4>mods)

- Restarting my game 100 times

Something that did work was creating a new account on my Mac, which suggests that there's something on my main account that is creating this issue. I'd like to play on my main account because I've downloaded all of my cc there.

Hi! After a looong time, I finally found the problem. When extracting and then inserting the same cc in and out of the mods folder, my finder automatically renames the cc with a bunch of numbers after the actual name (see picture). Because of this, the game somehow doesn't recognize the cc. I don't know why my finder does this, and I find it really annoying since I now have to rename everything and delete the numbers.

Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following search command then hit Enter/Return:

    find / -type d -name "*Mods*" 2>/dev/null

After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

How interesting. I wonder if it's because you moved the files around a lot and possibly created copies in the process? Although the numbers are all the same. I have had this happen to me sometimes but never thought too much of it. I think it was files I trashed then resurrected.

    Great you figured it out!

I have different problems with my game fist they gallery does not show other people creations that I can download and also the worlds that I could buy do not show up. They can lags they cc doesn’t show up and when it does it’s only 3-4 items and they are broken.
