To try and help understand what the issue is, and you are on a Mac, please can you provide the following:
Hello! Having the same issues as everyone else. The game crashes without warning and there doesnt seem to be a pattern since the update. I dont have mods enabled and i tried repairing the game a few times...
Looks like it doesnt happen in build mode just in live but it happens unexpectedly without an error message.
Another note - anyone else having issues aging their sims up using the birthday cake?

Not with human sims, but my pets won't age up with the Age Up Vet Treat. They eat them and then nothing happens.
I did have issues with Sims aging up with the birthday cake. I brought the cake and sim to a community lot and they were able to age up there.
I spoke to EA Support yesterday and they said it was an issue on their end, which seems to be the case as all platforms are affected. The person I spoke to said it was being investigated so I think it's just a waiting game at this point sadly.
OK, so I've had the crashing issue a couple of times. Normally if I keep saving my game every couple of minutes, I can play for a longer time. Now the game just froze completely during an event (Winterfest). The first time was at the beginning of the event: the game stopped responding, so I had to exit the game. I could save everything, but everything was extremely slow. I restarted the game and played about 5 minutes of said Winterfest. It seemed like the game just couldn't handle it at all. It froze, I couldn't click on other sims, I couldn't tell the selected sim what to do and when I tried saving, the game just got stuck in the saving screen. I couldn't close the game and it wouldn't let my laptop shut down, so I had to hardcore shut it down... now I'm scared of going back, since Winterfest is still going on!
