Re: Mac EA app - "Something went wrong" - Error EC:106 on EA app for Mac

Hello,

I tried to open my game yesterday and today and received a pop up that was headed "EA app" with a lock and the EA orange symbol.

It says:  EA app wants to make changes. Enter your password to allow this.

It used my Apple ID so I entered that password and it wasn't accepted. I changed to my Sims4 user ID and entered that password and it wasn't accepted. I then used my email address and that password and it wasn't accepted.

I am able to access The Account Management interface and the EA Forums, and any other Sims4 related bookmarks on the Web, using Safari. But I just want to play my game.

Has anyone else encountered this popup? I have never seen this before.

This is the first time I have tried to start a discussion on the forum. I hope I am in the right place. Thank you for your help.

    Hey there GtcMC05​ 

    Have you tried resetting the password for your EA account as well? You can do that with the steps here. 

    If you're still having troubles logging in then, be sure to let me know!

    Hello EA_Solaire,

    Thank you for your reply to my request for help. Yes, I did reset the password for my EA account. I still cannot log in. Here is my info:

    MacBook Air (M1, 2020), Memory 16 GB, running Monterey 12.7.6

    I cannot launch game. I get the same popup as described in my email. Whether I use my UserID, my email address, or AppleID it will not accept my password.

    I hope you can help me fix this, the error code is EC106.
