Hi everyone!
I believe I am experiencing the same issue 😞 I've deleted everything, removed my mods/cc, reinstalled The Sims 4 on Origin and every single time I go to "save & exit" or even "exit" from the main menu I have to force quit the app. Upon finding this thread I realized for the first time that I have Intel Core and deeply regret updating my Mac! A few weeks ago I upgraded to Ventura and noticed this issue every time I saved and exited the game. I wasn't too bothered by it at first because I noticed it still saved my place in the game, but now it's getting really frustrating. Even more so now knowing that EA is aware of this issue and still haven't resolved it. Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro
13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
Processor: 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB
Memory: 16 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X
macOS: Ventura
Storage: 330.4 GB available of 499.96 GB
Adding to this... I will review and try some of the options but this is a pretty discouraging issue IMO.
In my case, I completed a wipe of my machine and reinstalled OS Monterey. Then I upgraded to OS Ventura while the machine was still "fresh".
I installed my usual Adobe programs such as Photoshop, chrome, etc. Set up my mail again.
Then went to install Sims 4. This one takes a VERY long time to install due to me owning all games/packs/etc. I had to pause the install a few times due to slow internet while we reset the internet. Our usual speeds are 100-300 mbps. The game finally completed install and I opened it. It then went on to install packs I had asked it not to (lol) via sims incoming delivery. The game was closed (no new save). I reopened and then did game settings to get my settings back to normal and closed again.
Finally the third time I was ready to play and created a new sim by pulling one from my gallery saves. Upon trying to save the game via exit, save and exit, the game appeared to save and then the spinning circle of color came up and the game would not close. It DID save the game I discovered.
Fourth time, same thing.
The only way to close this game is force quit.
I've dealt with a lot of bugs over the years but this one... this is not cool. If this really is something broken that sims/EA needs to fix, it needs an emergency repair IMO. It is not safe to play the game and repeatedly force quit.

Graphics - AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 gb
Graphics - Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Mac OS Ventura Version 13.0.1

Why?- merrysimmaker3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Bluebellflora Call apple and ask them, they can explain in depth like they did to me. Force quit is not something that should be used on a regular basis. It is not a work around and can damage your machine. If there is a repeated problem, I was told the problem should be fixed once you are aware of it. Now if you have a cheap machine and don't care if it's damaged, then okay, but I don't and I seriously doubt EA is going to pay to replace it if something happens. I feel it's best to listen to apple. EA needs to correct the errors they have in this game making it unplayable and it should NOT repeatedly crash like this. Let me know if you need the number for apple support. 🙂

Force Quit may corrupt the app but only the app, not the hardware. In this case a repair of the game in Origin would likely fix any corruption of the game, as I have previously mentioned in this thread. Worst case, the user would need to re-download the game if a repair didn’t fix it.
Forcing the machine to shutdown regularly and repeatedly is not good and can potentially damage the hardware but that is not relevant for this specific Intel Mac/Ventura/Sims 4 problem.
This problem is super annoying and it’s very frustrating that a fix hasn’t been patched in yet but there’s no need to over dramatise it and worry other users unnecessarily about their Macs.
