I have never played with edge smoothing on- I play on low-medium graphics, and I confirmed again that I am not using edge-smoothing.

    Are you playing in fullscreen? Could you change to windowed mode and see if that helps?

      I was playing in fullscreen, moving it over to windowed does in fact help, putting sims 4 behind other apps won't make it glitch/freeze in windowed mode.
