Re: Game crashing or not loading especially after updating? Post here.

Hi! I play on a Mac and I’ve been having major issues with my Sims 4 game for a couple months.

Here’s what’s happening:

• Sims will often stand around doing nothing after being given tasks.
• Interactions freeze mid-animation (for example, they’ll start cooking and then just stop in place).
• I’ve had issues with Sims getting stuck in idle animations or failing to route to objects.
• Parts of the UI sometimes bug out or lag badly.
• Build mode graphics do not align.

What I’ve tried:

• Repaired the game through the EA App
• Cleared cache and deleted the localthumbcache
• Removed all mods/CC and tested in a vanilla save — the issues still happened
• Slowly re-added updated versions of key mods — problems continue
• Tested both new and old saves — same issues in both
• Game is fully updated as of June 2025

System Info:

• macOS (can provide specific version if needed)
• Playing through the EA App (I used Origin before the switch)

I’d really appreciate any help — these issues are making the game nearly unplayable right now.
