Help! I don't know what I did!

Ok. So I had MODS installed on my MAC for the Sims 4. I was getting a notification that my version of was outdated and I needed to update it. I had been wanting to clean up my mods folder anyway so I went ahead and deleted all the mods I had saved in my mods folder (wicked perversions, mc command center, basement drugs, hoe it up, and ) I redownloaded all of those mod except for hoe it up and mc command center. When I went to open my game up to play with my newly redownloaded mods, my saved games were gone! No biggie I thought because I've "lost" my saved games before and used sims4.crinrict.com to get them back. Only this time, It didn't work. This time when I looked at my folders I saw I had files  in my main Sims 4 folder and files in another sims 4 folder, a separate MODS folder with files in it, and also some files saved under my iCloud folder. I tried condensing them all to my main Sims 4 folder under "saves", then tried to reboot-- still nothing. I deleted all the other weird folders and then tried to reboot-- still nothing.

At this point I just want to completely start over again. I don't care about my old saved game. But when I tried to start over and save a new game, the game didn't save. I tried this 3 times and every time I open the main screen, I get the tutorial page. Also its not showing me my mods. Does anyone know how I can restart everything? Would it be a good idea to completely delete everything and start from scratch--as if I was playing for the first time? If so, how do I do that? I also have several purchased packs if that makes a difference. Im not tech savvy at all but any help would be appreciated! 🙂
