Help Loading and Installing The Sims 4 on MacOS 15.0.1

Please have pity on me. I have been trying to do this for weeks.

I am trying to load and install the Sims 4 for Mac and cannot find instructions for doing that. I have found conflicting information as basic as whether to use Origin or the EA app. It hasn't helped that EA has been doing massive updates. I don't know if I should be trying this until they're done, and I have no idea when they'll be done anyway!

  • I have done my homework and bought a Mac that can definitely run this.
  • I have saved my Save, Mods, and Tray files.
  • I used the EA app to download all my packs. I tried to load the game itself and got stuck in an endless pause.
  • I have Avast loaded and, true to form, I'm not sure which features are engaged or how to turn them off if needed.

My Internet connection is abysmal, but I can go into town and do it all at the library if that would help

Thank you for your help.

Origin is for macOS Mojave or earlier versions of macOS. You're running Sequoia so you use EA App.

I have no idea about antivirus, I don't use it on any of my Macs, never have in 35+ years, so can't help you there I'm afraid.

Rename the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts then load the game. Does it launch?
