Help! Sims 4 won't install on mac

So I have been trying for 4 days now to install the Sims 4 on my Mac computer.  I've done the live chat with a rep and no results.  I've had someone call me and walk me through some trouble shooting....

    You will have to update your Mac OS to 10.7.5 or later in order to run Sims 4. The game will not run on OS version 10.6 or older. Sorry.

Can I please get an update on this? I'm currently having the same problem from a 10.6 mac and wondering if this worked. :-)
