I cant make new households

I am an iMac user so I use origin.

I want to make a new household, but once I've made my sim and get to the page where the little window where you can select the pose you want your sims to be in, it doesn't work. I push the check mark a million times and wait for ages, but I can't get past the screen. Resulting in me not being able to select where I want to make houses for my sim characters. I have checked all of my mods, then deleted all of my mods, I have updated the game, repaired it a million times, reset the Origin app, deleted the game completely, and re-downloaded it. I've emailed EA directly but they sent me here. I hope someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
