I copied and moved my save and tray files from another mac but its not working.

Hi,

I play sims 4 mainly on an older, 2013 computer, but the EA app has been taking a bit of a toll on it's speed so I decided to maybe move it to my new mac (don't worry, if relevant i haven't deleted it from my old one yet).

I copied the tray and saves folders and put them on the new computer, but instead of dragging the files in I went "there is already a file called (this) in the sims 4. Replace? Keep both?" and selected replace. I think i made a mistake, i can't undo it... :p

I restarted the game multiple times and nothing's changed. I was hoping to play 2 particular worlds I made :^

Replacing does just that, it replaces an existing file with the one you're copying over as it has the same file name, you cannot reverse it. Unless you have a backup of your original files from your older Mac?

  • Update: I ended up just putting my sims and houses in the library and played that way but I still don't have their progresses T-T
