Lower Left Corner Thumbnail Not Loading

So just starting yesterday, my sims' pictures at the bottom of the screen won't load and are blank. There doesn't seem to be any gameplay issues, but I think it's preventing me from saving the game because every time I go to save or even save & exit, it just loads and loads and never stops, so I just have to force quit and lose my progress. I also want to note that when I go to change outfit, all of the slots are blank and when I choose one, the sim carries out the option but nothing changes.

I do have mods, but I've tried removing all of them to no avail. I also did a factory reset which did nothing, and I made sure origin was fully up to date as well. Nothing is working and I really want to be able to save my game. When I was searching to find solutions, I saw somewhere that if the pictures don't load, it can interfere with saving, but I can't do anything to make them reappear.

I attached screenshots in case I wasn't clear, I wasn't really sure how to word the issue. I've had the game for over 2 years and nothing like this has happened before. Any help would be really appreciated.
