mac migration

So I got a new MacBook, the MacBook 13 Pro (2020) 2.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor. I played the Sims 4 for about 4 years on my old computer, a MacBook 13 Pro (2012). I used the Apple migration tool to move all of my stuff over, but the Sims 4 isn't working like it used to. I got a message saying the game didn't recognize the game card, and now only plays in Ultra. Not to mention the files are really messed up; I can't even find my mods folder anymore. I have uninstalled both Sims 4 and Origin and reinstalled them and it comes back the same. Anyone had this problem before?

The game may not recognise your graphics card because the Intel chip in your newer Mac is probably not in the game database of supported cards. Could you attach your Config.log file and I can check.

As for your Sims 4 folder containing your saves, mods and other user data. It should be in Documents > Electronic Arts. Is it not there? Do you have iCloud Drive enabled so it is being stored in iCloud Drive > Documents > Electronic Arts?

How much internal storage do yo have free on your new Mac? You can check in About This Mac > Storage.

Hello! I just did some research on my own and found that my graphics card is not supported. Is there anyway to know when it will be?

Hopefully in a future update. You can add it manually and I can help you but need the Config.log file for the chip details 🙂
