MACBOOK Crashing and MODS not loading 2021
I have 2 problems
1. My game continues to crash no matter what I do. Ive taken out mods to see if I could find the one causing the problem and I updated them as well. The only remedy I have is to save every few minutes and that only delays the problem; but ultimately it still crashes. This has ben happening since the first update in March of 2021, and didn't update when it first came out, I waited a week or so before updating.
SIDENOTE: It does not crash in CAS or BUILDMODE, only in gameplay which is why I assumed it was a gameplay mod and not any cc clothes/furniture.
2. I just updated my MacBook Air to the Big Sur update, and since reinstalling the sims and my mods/cc; it won't read any of my script files. It says they are buried in my mods folder even though they're only 1 subfolder deep. For example, here is the path for : ELECTRONIC ARTS_THE SIMS_MODS_WICKED. When I load my game it says the script file cannot be read because it is too many subfolders deep. I also took my mods folder out and opened the game to create a new one, but it did not help.
So I tried those steps, nothing worked. I do feel like it is a corrupt save file as you stated, because I do remember after the update it said something wasn't loaded up properly so I had to exit.
As for the messed up mods folder, I created a new file and put in since that would tell me as soon as I loaded in if it could be read, and I got the same error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the sims which didn't work either.
UPDATE
* I fixed the mods issue by disabling and reenabling my script mods.
** I fixed the crashing, and it WAS a corrupt save file. THANKS BLUEBELLFLORA for bringing it to my attention
