I recently upgraded from OS Mountain Lion to Sierra. I'm playing Sims 3 with the Pets expansion. The last time I played was before I installed Sierra, and everything worked fine. Today, I tried playing Pets and after clicking the icon and play in the launcher, the game proceeded to get stuck on the green diamond/blue background screen. I've searched through some forums for this problem and see that it mostly has to do with having a post 2013 computer. I have a 2012 yet I am experiencing the same symptoms. Any fixes or suggestions? I have not tried reinstalling it yet.
Can you try the suggestions already posted in this thread? Uninstall/reinstall, new user account etc.
Urgh, sorry ☹️ Do you have any clean up apps installed or antivirus which could be interfering?

Sorry ☹️ Logically it is something specific to your Mac as it is not affecting everyone. Has the recent 10.12.1 update made any difference? How about reinstalling Sierra again? You shouldn't lose any data by doing so but obviously back up your Mac anyway 🙂

Sims 3
I have a Macbook Pro 15in mid 2012,
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
and for graphics,
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
I only have the base game of Sims 3 from the DVD. My previous OS was Yosemite, the game worked fine. I updated to Sierra 10.12.2 and the game launcher was fine but clicking play it wouldn't progress beyond the blue screen with the green plumb bob. I manually uninstalled and reinstalled the base game from the disc after that the game worked. Then I manually patched the game. After the patch I had the same problem I started with. Was there anything in the patch that wouldn't work with Sierra?
Thanks for you help
