Ahh, looks like macOS killed 32-bit apps in Catalina. How stupid.

Yep, they did indeed kill 32-bit apps. Catalina is in beta and will be until around September. Hopefully EA will fix this issue (they did in the April patch but had to roll back because it broke the game for Lion users) before Catalina is released. Beta versions of OSs are not supported.

Definitely understand it not being supported. Just wanted to provide some more info. ☺️

And ? The macOS version has always been 64-bit, therefore that's not the problem here.

The problem is the error message which was patched in April then rolled back which fixes the 32-bit ActivationUI process. - 6 years ago
This specific component, ActivationUI, does not appear to be 64 bit.
