Hello puzzle, they're not in my computer recycling b in if that's what you're first asking. And I'm not really sure what OneDrive is as I'm using a Macbook.
A problem might be that I un/reinstalled the game? But before I did that I dragged the 'The Sims 4' folder to my desktop before uninstalling. Would that pose as a problem?
@Windowmemer I moved your thread to the Mac section. And no, you wouldn't have OneDrive (unless you manually installed it), but macOS has the equivalent iCloud, which is happy to upload both the contents of Documents and anything on your desktop. Check your settings:

If your saves are in iCloud, then disable automatic syncing, copy the saves (and the contents of Tray, if you want to keep saved households and builds) to the correct folder within Documents\Electronic Arts, and load the game to see whether they show up.
You can also check iCloud's archive for old Sims 4 folders. Open a Finder window, click Macintosh HD (or whatever you've named your hard disk) in the left panel, then Users > your username, and you may see folders labeled iCloud Drive (Archive). If you don't see Macintosh HD in the Finder window, click Finder in the upper left corner of your screen, then Preferences, then Sidebar, and check the box next to hard disks.
