Origin and Sims 4 won't open - mac

I try to open The Sims 4, The Origin app opens and says connecting to Origin but nothing else happens, and the Sims won't open. Origin doesn't work properly either, when I try to open the app I just get a blank square. Please urgently help!

    @kwatters99 I found the issue, for me it was Malware - I downloaded an anti virus program and had to use it a couple of times to fix the issue but it's fixed now, thank god! Maybe try a malware or anti virus program? I hope this helps you!

    This happened to me too. I normally play the game offline, but I still need to log in through the origin in order to play the game. I already have the icon on my desktop, but it won't even let me to launch the game. My OS is the latest Catalina version & I even have deleted the origin download cache folder. Any idea what's happening? What is the possible troubleshooting that we can do?

    @Danielleb3764 I managed to figure out the way. We need to reset the Origin. Here is the link where you can use download the origin reset tool. Once you've reset the origin, you need to exit origin & log in again. Hope it helps.

    I tried to reset origin but it didn't help, I still get the empty white box pop up - also when I try and start it in safe mode the application will launch but all I get is a message that says uh-oh something went wrong and the page you are looking for doesn't exist, or something along those lines.

    @x4m1r4 Hi I am also having this issue, when I click the play button, the app crashes before it even opens and brings be back to the origin screen. I just used your link and reset origin and it did not work.

    @x4m1r4 Yes I tried that and it didn't work.
    I have Mojave, not Catalina but yes it's the latest version.
    I don't understand how something can work fine one day and not the next, it's very frustrating. I don't know what else to do!

    Hi! I have a similar problem.. Origin opens, but then it doesn't display my games in the library, instead I see a blank cliquable space and there's no play button. If I try to open the Sims 4 directly from the app, it opens Origin but nothing happens. Also, when I want to close Origins, it crashes and I have to force quit it. Since the last time I played, I upgraded my mac to Catalina. Here are some screenshots of Origins and its behavior. I hope somebody can help me!
