I recently bought Sims 4 from a store and followed all the details to install and play the game on my macbook. Im new to Origin so havent quite figured all the ins and outs, however Ive played my game roughly 10+ hours in the last couple of days and on origin it says i have played no hours and have not recently played the game. What can i do to fix this so it updates and displays correctly?

Also having this issue on Mac. Even more confusing was it worked fine in the previous version of Origin, but it actually erased my alotted hours as well as not tracking new ones. It seems to keep track of my hours played on Windows though.

Origin 10 (the new Origin) is a complete overhaul of Origin. Unfortunately it still has a few glitches that the team is working to get fixed ASAP. Pleas be patient, EA will get it fixed as fast as they can. In the meantime, enjoy yor game and, try not to focus on the time played too much.

In Origin, the "hours played" and "last played" data no longer updates. It's not a major thing, but was kind of nice. Any ideas on why not? This seems to be just on Sims 4 game.

Clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank/ this,most likely should solve your problem,mate.🤔

Hi Vabel.Thanks for the reply. This isn't a game that is missing, it's data on the Origin startup screens. Nevertheless, I followed the instructions in the link you provided. As you can see from the screenshot, there is no folder called DownloadCache in the Origin folder. (I'm on a Mac.) There is a Caches folder but nothing I could find related to Origin. Like I said before, this isn't a major issue, but I did like the update to the hours played and last date played. Any other ideas? Thanks again for your response.

When you launch your game through your Applications folder/desktop shortcut/Dock icon it does not update the hours played. Launching it through Origin does update the hours played.

This is a little bit of a silly problem, I confess, but it is REALLY bugging me.

My Sims 4 hours played and last played in Origin are stuck in December 2014. I have done everything--cleared cache, used reinstall tool, then complete uninstall of Sims 4 *and* Origin and reinstall of it all. Still not working. I even contacted help via chat, and they said reinstall of Origin / Sims 4 would fix it but ah-nope. And now EA Help appears to be down, after a long wait for an agent...just as it said Nikesh was there, the site quit working.

So one theory I have is that originally I had Sims 4 on a PC, and then I switched to Mac in February 2015. I am pretty sure the December 2014 date is the last time I played on my PC. I currently have MacOS Sierra.

Any idea if there is some way to fix this? I have searched the forums and scoured the internet with tons of differentiations of search terms, and nada. It's just driving me nuts that it's wrong and I would really like to see it be correct.

PS I have seen this thread, but never changed the setting to close Origin upon closing Sims 4.

since you're on a mac and afaik other mac players have this issue, I've moved your thread to the mac forum for better help

I always launch my game in origin and im still having the same problem. Maybe its just a Mac thing?
