I have:
1. Reset and re-installed Origin
2. Deleted the Sims 4 exe file from the Sims 4 package
3. Run the 'repair' function in Origin
4. Deleted every file location it claimed was 'not available' when I've found them
Now it is claiming files that are not visible in Finder are 'not available', and I've run out of options; I've wasted several hours on this just so my daughter can play this game.
Could you please post screenshots of the error messages? Are they Origin messages or OS messages?

Thanks for responding. The error messages are Origin not OS. The current one reads: 'Origin is not able to download The Sims™ 4 to /Applications/The Sims 4.app/Contents/Resources/Default.ini_DiP_STAGED. Please check that the location is available or cancel and restart the download to another location.'
As I say, I've had several like this. Following/extrapolating from advice here, I've deleted the indicated file each time, but this time I cannot find the file in Finder, so cannot delete.- Bluebellflora6 years agoHero+@SteveH1512
Right click on the app in your applications folder, select Show Package Contents and navigate through to it. You may find only an uninstall and reinstall will fix it, it's borked Origin download ☹️
