Origin won't update games Mac

I have Origin on my Mac and the only game I have for it is Sims 4. I tried to play Sims after just under three months of not playing it, when I tried to start the game it told me that I needed to update. Reasonable. So I hit the update button and nothing happened. So I wait. A moment later, a pop-up comes up that says that Windows is blocking the attempt to download game content. 

"Oops… Windows blocked our attempt to download game content. If you'd like to allow Origin to download content to your computer, select "Retry" below. When prompted, grant permission within the User Account Control pop-up."

The problems are, I don't have Windows, and I am not being prompted to grant permission. 

I have updated the Sims several times before, and this was never an issue. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Origin and nothing changed. I also went into my computer settings and just manually gave Origin all the permissions that it might ask for. At this point, I don't know what else there is that I can do
