Re: Game Data Incomplete, grey llamas, red and white sims, broken textures

Hello, I just want to apolagize in the beginning for my English because I´m 15 years old and English is not my first language. I hope someone reads this. Im new to this website but I have issues with my Sims game. Few weeks ago I decided to remove some documents from the Electronic Arts file so I could have more space on my computer (which I shouldn't have done). After I did that I noticed two weird "glitches" in the Sims game, I don't know if there are more issues but these are the ones I have noticed.

The first one is that when I went to manage worlds(the maps) I couldn't see some of the pictures of the houses, instead there were pictures of Lamas. When I clicked on the lot and saw the lot was normal in build mode and then went back to manage worlds the lama had disappeared and the picture of the lot was back. This happened to some of the worlds from different packs, but I could fix them all by going in the lot and back out. So its all good until I go to my City Living world(I don't remember the name) because there were Lamas on most of the lots but when I clicked to go in build mode I couldn't because the picture of the Lama was there (where you have to choose which apartment you want). The lots in the City world are different because of the apartments so that is why I can't make the Lamas in that world disappear. So I cannot go to some of the lots in the City world and I don't know how to fix it.

The second issue I have noticed is that when I go underground/to the basement in build mode or live mode it all gets white and glitchy, I don't know how to explain it but I will insert a photo. So when I go to the basement I cannot build anything in there or do anything. It is really strange and I hope there is a way to fix it.

Okay, here are some information about my laptop: I play on MacBook Air (Retina, 13 inch, 2019) Processor: 1,6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

Memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 617 1536 MB   Serial Number: FVFZL09ELYWN

I dont use any mods or custom content but I have some of the expansion packs.

These issues definitely happened because I deleted the documents by accident and this had never happened before. I was wondering if somehow I could just restart the whole Sims and the files and documents at the same time. It is okay as long as I have my Sims account that has all my lots and households saved. Building is my favourite thing in Sims so this is not fun for me. I have tried to repair the game two times but it didn't work. I also put a photo of my documents because I have Sims 4 and Sims 4 copy and I don't know if it is supposed to be like that. My cache file are also empty but I dont know how these are supposed to look like so I took some screenshots in case it is unusual. I attached three screenshots and I have more but I can't send more then three so I replied with the rest of the screenshots.

If you have any solution please reply and ask more questions if you need to🙂

Thanks, Signy

This is going to take a little while but let's start with a new game to try and fix it:

    1. Wherever the game is installed to, normally the User Applications folder on your Mac, trash the Sims 4 Packs folder that will be in the same location. This will delete all your packs.
    2. Next, repair the game in Origin
    3. Now download all your packs again
    4. Move your Sims 4 folder - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163
    5. Now load the game, it should be like new with no-one of your saves etc. loaded. Start a new save and see if the llamas have disappeared.

Thanks for your response. I think I understand the first step, I put "The Sims 4 Packs" in the bin but do I have to empty the bin? It is a bit uncomfortable putting them there and kind of deleting them. But after throwing the fold to the bin I repaired Sims on Origin. But the third step, I don't know how to download the packs again, could you tell me how to do that. And how do I move the Sims 4 folder and to where? You sent a link with the step but what should I click on or read because I could not find anything on from the link that "moves Sims 4 folder". And the last step, how do I load the game?

Im sorry for all these questions but thank you!

You download the packs in Origin. Click on the game in your games library then under the Play button you will see the Pack tabs. Under each pack you own will be a Download button.

The link takes you directly to the relevant post about moving the Sims 4 folder, it is step 1 🙂

Load the game by pressing the Play button in your Origin games library.

Hi again, this is all very complicating for me. So was I supposed to put the "Sims 4 packs" file in the bin and empty it? Im not 100% sure if that was the 1. step but I did it and I emptied the bin. Then I repaired the Sims. And after that I went to the packs on Origin so I could download them but there was no download button(I sent a screenshot). After you have answered I will do the next step🙂

edit: now when I go back to origin it says it is downloading the packs so I think it is working. But it happened by itself

    Thank you.

Okay I am so sorry for all the questions but I do not understand the forth step (move your Sims 4 folder). I went on a link that said "Move your Sims 4 folder out onto your desktop and let the game generate a new one" and the steps were there. Is that the right information? But how do I do that, I dont understand those steps. I found The Sims 4 folder but what next? "The Sims 4" folder and "The Sims 4" game itself are the only things on my desktop. I deleted all the "Sims 4 packs" folders from everything and I hope I was supposed to.

But my question is : How do I let the game generate a new one?

    thanks again

If the Sims 4 folder is on your desktop then you have moved it.

Once Origin has finished downloading all your packs launch the game.

Okay I did this all and the lamas disappeared! But the basement glitch didn't go away. What can I do about it?

But thank you so much for all your help!
