Re: Help! Sims 4 won't install on mac

Why can't they fix this problem?

Did anyone else have it ask you for language selection before downloading but there were no languages in the drop box?

This is the most torturous thing ever... I've waited 3 months for this & now I just get to look at the box art on my game hub. 😕mileysad:

    Hello all,

    Just to gather some more info, please make sure that you have tried the steps in my 1st post in the thread. If the issue remains after those steps, please post the following info:

    1. What operating system are you using?

    2. Are you using Origin Beta client (Application Settings - General)? If you are not using the beta client could you please try that.

    3.What firewall/antivirus are you using?

    I just tried all the steps, AGAIN. Didn't work. I'm using the right Origin, and it's not my firewall. All things that were already cleared up when I talked to someone on the phone. I have plenty of memory room. It's downloaded but won't install. Like everyone already said..

    1. What operating system are you using? MAC OS X Version 10.6.8 - Plenty of room available as well, no issues there.

    2. Are you using Origin Beta client (Application Settings - General)? Not sure what the Beta Client is but it doesn't say anywhere that I am using it and I doubt that would be the case.

    3.What firewall/antivirus are you using? N/A

    i'm having the same problem. Everytime I try when it tells me to select a language, I can't choose one either. It's just blank.

    Minimum system requirements for Sims 4 are 10.7.4 so 10.6.8 is not going to work @dgfortiz & @skodeberg

    You have to order the OS X Lion 10.7 from apple. I ordered mine for $19.99 earlier today and am waiting for the download link to be emailed to me. You can purchase at http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion

    That is what I did but I am not sure if there is another way.

    You need to make sure you are running a Mac OS that can run the game. If you are running Snow Leopard, the game will not install or work at all. You need to be running 10.7 or higher. Some people have reported graphics problems with Mountain Lion (10.8) so it is best if you are running Maverick (10.9) or Yosemite (10.10). If you have access to the App Store, you should be able to upgrade to Yosemite for free.

    @frohnerj

    Via the App Store on your Mac. Make sure your Mac meets the other minimum requirements, not just the operating system.

  • okay so i apologize ahead of time if i sound like a newby (cuz i kind of am lol) but i just got a macbook and it says i'm running sierra 10.12.4. I know its the newest mac os but do i have to have something different for the sims? i haven't purchased the game yet. i've just been seeing people had problems downloading it so i was doing some research before i bought it.

    Thanks in advance

    Purchased Origin Access today just to play Sims 4 on Mac, download didn't work, contacted EA support via chat, clueless, illiterate support stuff was of no help and finally kicked my support session.
    My suggestion: don't buy and forget Sims 4 on Mac - it's a mess and not supported by EA.

    @lhenlein

    Origin Access is only available for Windows.

    The Sims 4 is fully compatible for Mac and is supported on compatible machines. You would need to buy the game and if you don't like it request a refund within 24 hours of first launching the game.
