    10.15 Catalina (beta)

    Sims 3

    32-bit Applications no longer run in Catalina. Please read this guide on installing a previous version of macOS or Windows in order to carry on playing Sims 3.

    Sims 4

    Currently Sims 4 will not load in the beta of Catalina as there is one 32-bit file, ActivationUI, that needs updating/removing. Do not update to Catalina at this time if you want to carry on playing.

    @mariacortes24 look into switching to high Sierra. if you can do it yourself but if not look into a place that specializes in Macs like Best Buy.

    Is it safe to update to Mojave/Catalina when using a NVIDIA card? I heard Apple stopped releasing drivers for them, which basically means they're unsupported now. 😕

    Do you mean NVIDIA stopped releasing beta driver updates? Yes, they did unfortunately. High Sierra was the last.

    Apple don't often update graphics drivers but they are in no way 'unsupported' in macOS.

    @Bluebellflora Thank you for the quick reply! Yes, I think this is what I meant. Does that mean I can still update to a new operating system or will my graphics card cause problems eventually? (Especially when it comes to gaming.)

    @puderosasims

    Hmm. How is your game performing at the moment? You may be better off sticking with High Sierra because of the NVIDIA driver. You could always test how it would perform in Mojave by installing it on an external drive.

    @Bluebellflora My game runs very smoothly at the moment, and I enjoy playing on high settings. I'll better stick with High Sierra then. Hopefully there will be NVIDIA drivers in the future again. Thanks for your advice!
