Yes. I've checked it a good few times, turned it on and off, played with most settings, haven't had any luck. I've got a good couple hours in the game as well, so that isn't the issue :,)
Thanks.
Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following search command then hit Enter/Return:
find ~ -type d -name "*Mods*" 2>/dev/null
After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.
Thank you for the help. these were the results:
/Users/doublaa/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods
I checked my folders and unfortunately I still can't find it in my sims 4 folder. There are however there are three package files. I don't understand computer stuff too well (although this little treasure hunt is teaching me plenty) but I attempted to open them to see if they were anything useful and found that I couldn't due to a missing application of some sort. No idea if that's useful, but figured I'd mention anyways.

Thanks! You don’t need to open package files unless you want to edit the object on some way using a 3rd party app.
Those search results show you have a Mods folder in the Sims 4 folder. The Sims 4 folder is in the Electronic Arts folder which is in your Documents folder. I wish it was, but i still can't find it in there :,) Here's a screenshot of the sims 4 folder. I've searched through all of my documents but still nada

That’s not the correct folder. I’ve given you the location in my previous post and the Terminal search confirms it 🙂 im sorry, but this is the only sims 4 folder in my only electronic arts folder. if this isn't the right folder then I don't know where the right one is :,)

Please stop using the search function and navigate to your Documents folder manually. The Electronic Arts folder is hidden from Spotlight if it is correctly stored in the Documents folder which yours is. My bad then! Again im no computer person lol. how else do I find it? sorry for the extra trouble
