Re: SIMS 4: no saved files

@gohoneyrose

Ignore Origin not updating hours played, it's a bug which is irrelevant to gameplay.

Please navigate to your Sims 4 data folder, click on it once to highlight then hold down CMD and press i to bring up the info window. Please can you provide the full file path of the folder?

Do you have iCloud Drive enabled to store your Documents folder in the cloud?

Which update are you referring to? A macOS update or Sims 4 update?

    Hi there 🙂

    My SIMS 4 data folder seems to be linked to the iCloud.

    I disconnected it to iCloud and moved it back to my Mac.

    Do you have iCloud Drive enabled to store your Documents folder in the cloud? Yes.

    Which update are you referring to? A macOS update or Sims 4 update? The Sims 4 update.

    I am not using any CCs.

    I don't even have a clue how this can even happen?

    It is SO frustrating :/

    The game will only look in your Documents folder for the Electronic Arts > Sims 4 folder. iCloud is moving the contents to the cloud so the game can't see it each time it opens. You need to disable it so your Documents folder contents stay on your Mac.

    Worked for me! Didn't find the save files I lost yesterday, but rather those from a year ago.
