I don't think you really tried everything on the internet, that's a slight exaggeration 🙂
Never try to delete a folder, whatever that folder is if it is related to the game, when the game is running, even if it is frozen. That's how corruption occurs.
If Force Quit isn't working you can force restart your Mac by holding down the power button until it turns off. Give it a few second then power it back up again. If you have non-game related files open you should quit and save them first, if possible, by holding down the CMD key and pressing the Tab key to cycle through open apps.
Once you've restarted your Mac go into the Sims 4 > saves folder and trash the scratch folder. Next do a game repair in Origin/EA App. Then launch the game and try to save then exit.
