Have you looked in the Origin downloads folder for the .dmg? Origin > Preferences > Installs & Saves then click on Browse Installers
Can you also check the installation - Go into Applications > The Sims 3 (is there an Ambitions shortcut in that folder?) then right click on the base game icon and select Show Package Contents. Navigate through to Contents > Resources > AddOns, is Ambitions listed?
Do you have a 13" MacBook Pro with Intel HD 3000 graphics or a 15" MacBook Pro with AMD Radeon HD 6490M or 6750M and Intel HD 3000?
I updated The Sims 3 ambitions, and I'm still getting the error message.

Ok. Can you manually uninstall Ambitions then download it and try again? Please look in the Origin downloads folder I mentioned in my previous post and get rid of any installers that are already there before re-downloading Ambitions
- 9 years agoI have uninstalled and reinstalled these games 4 times now. I even swiped my computer clean and factory reset it. Nothing is working.

I know it's really frustrating but I also know that unless every single residual file is deleted (a lot are left behind by the uninstaller), then subsequent reinstalls of either the whole game or just an EP/SP are fruitless. The same can also be said for if a user wipes their Mac, reinstalls a fresh copy of the OS, then uses Time Machine/Migration Assistant to migrate all their files over, those residual files will just be copied over again.
Ambitions, weirdly, is also a problematic EP and can cause problems on the most stable Macs. Was there a .dmg in the Origins download folder?
Set up a new user account on your Mac and see if you can play in that account.

I just tried this and followed the steps in the link, but it's still not working. Do you have any other suggestions?
