sims 4 freezing

I'm on Mac, having issues with my Sims 4 game freezing anytime my screensaver comes up, even if it's just for a moment I have to force quit the entire game and start it all up over again. It's only been happening since I got University and Tiny Living, is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas for fixes?
