Sims 4 Game deleted on Mac but Origin is still trying to verify files

I used to have my Sims 4 game installed on my external drive. It worked perfectly fine but I ended up deleting the Application from my hard drive on accident but now Origin still thinks it's still there, so it tries to update and verify my game files even though they're deleted. The first time I tried to cancel the update and then tried uninstalling it through Origin but nothing would happen. Then after I relaunched Origin, I tried to cancel the update/verifying game files and it would not even cancel. Where do I go from here?

I still have the option to uninstall the Sims 4 from Origin, but that's a problem because the game is deleted. There is nothing to uninstall.

How do I get Origin to realize that it can't update the Sims 4 or verify the files because they're deleted from my external drive?

I really hope that I don't need to make a new EA/Origin account and buy a new Sims 4 game. That is the last thing I want to do.

If Origin still thinks the game is installed then there must be remnants of it somewhere on your Mac. What is the game library location of your installed games in Origin?

Let's search your Mac for anything named Sims 4. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

    find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null

After a little while it will return all the results. Please copy and paste them in a post here.
