sims 4 game has saving screen up, but won't finish saving

this has happened a couple times now. i create a household, play with them for a while, and i have no gameplay issues. when i'm ready to save, the saving icon comes up but the game will not save, the...

    Could you set up a new user account on your Mac and see if you can play and save successfully in that account?

@Bluebellflora just did this and it seems to work! I'm gonna try again tomorrow just in case, because the last thing i tried only worked once- thanks for all your help!
