Sims 4 Game Stuck on Loading Screen - On Mac

I have been having trouble getting past the loading screen once I hit "resume game" on The Sims 4. I have attempted to update and repair the game through Origin, and nothing has worked. After hitting "resume game", I am taken to a loading screen where it then becomes frozen and I have to quit the application.
