Hello.
We'd like to collect more information to help with the investigation of this issue.
For those of you experiencing this crash:
- Does enabling Vertical Sync in the Graphics section of Game Options help at all?
- If you still experience this crash after enabling Vertical Sync:
- Would you be willing to share a couple of files?
- lastCrash.txt in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\
- Crash log. To find this: Open Applications/Utilities/Console.app, click Crash Reports, find the one corresponding to Sims 4, right-click, select "Reveal in Finder".
- Instructions on how to send files are here. You can send them to me via private message if you prefer.
- Would you be willing to share a couple of files?

- Does enabling Vertical Sync in the Graphics section of Game Options help at all?
- It does not help. I've still crashed multiple times since then, at least 4 times, twice today.
I also mostly get the crash during gameplay, once in a while it happens during building. I've crashed twice today already and I'm not expecting it to be the last. I have other games I play that I have through Steam and never have the issues of crashing. Has one crashed? Sure but it's not daily or even monthly when it happens.
Uploading two reports I get in Console for the crashes. Now I did find the lastcrash but wouldn't attach a word doc. Also noticed that lastcrash document was dated back in June and I've many crashes since that one.

All QA need at this point to help find the problem is your save, as SimQARobo has requested.
Your lastCrash report also shows you have Mods/CC installed. Does this still happen in a vanilla game? You need to test that by moving or renaming your entire Sims 4 folder so a new one is created. - Toddikins014 years agoNew Novice

I'm not understanding, my save? The save files?
I don't have any mods installed actually and haven't for months now. I've searched every folder and couldn't find any mods. If I had completely wiped my computer and started over if there was a random file somewhere it should be gone since I've downloaded the game and packs? I will try to move the file and see what happens there.

SimsQARobo has posted on the previous page, asking for saves to try and repro the issue. Yes the problem seems to be hardware related but if QA ask for saves it’s a good thing, means they are looking into it!
If you look in the lastCrash text you can see it says Modded:True. This means that there is 3rd party content installed in your game. The best way to rule out Mods/CC is to rename/move the Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts so the game creates a new one when you launch it. If it crashes again there should be a new lastCrash file generated. Please upload that file so it has a relevant CategoryID for a crash in a vanilla game. - Toddikins014 years agoNew Novice
I tried to upload the save but it was saying it's an unsupported file type.
I did move The Sims folder so that it would create a new folder and it worked for 2 days. Now I'm already at 3 crashes today so far.
When I go to look for the last crash report I don't see one. I even went into all the folders just to make sure and nothing was there. I did go into Console and have the standard ones I usually get and the latest one is attached.

Great info, thanks! Before it started crashing again, what were you doing in-game? What Mods/CC did you add back in? Did you save any lots/households/rooms to the Library? Did it start happening in a certain world or activity? It's interesting that it was fine for 2 days, there must have been a trigger of some sort.
SimsQARobo's instructions are here for uploading a save - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/-Sims-4-keeps-crashing-on-2020-iMac-27/m-p/10309506#M46088 you don't add the save in a post here. If you like, upload it to a file sharing site and PM me or Robo the link 🙂 - Toddikins014 years agoNew Novice
Thanks, sorry I missed that part and will upload using OneDrive in the next 30 mins.
Before it started crashing again, what were you doing in-game?
- So I just opened the game for the first time today and was doing gameplay. Usually, that's when it happens for the crashes and it crashed within 5 mins this time. So I had my Sim post to social media and then through the phone pay the bills. I was having issues just doing normal tasks in the game.
What Mods/CC did you add back in?
- No mods/cc was added back before it started crashing. After the crashing started I did add UI Cheats back but it just got even worse with that so I removed it.
Did you save any lots/households/rooms to the Library?
- No
Did it start happening in a certain world or activity?
- It's happened in every world and any random activity.

@Toddikins01 Hi, I noticed that the lastCrash file that you sent says "Modded: True". Have you seen the crash with a completely empty Mods folder?
